The amazing students at Highland Park High School launched their annual fund-raising drive last week. This phenomenal month-long undertaking includes myriad events to raise funds for one select charity, which is voted on by the student body and faculty members. Last year’s event raised over $165,000 for the Tiny Hearts Foundation!
This year, the Leukemia Research Foundation (LRF) is the well-deserving beneficiary of the fundraising efforts.
The LRF fights against blood cancers, the #1 disease that kills children under the age of 20. By providing funding for innovative research for a cure for cancers of the blood like leukemia, lymphoma, and myelodysplastic syndromes of the blood, and offering financial and other assistance to patients, the LRF strives to enrich the quality of life of those touched by these diseases.
There are some incredible events lined up this years, including: a silent auction this Friday, 2/3; Mah Jongg Madness on Monday, 2/6; a fashion show at Saks Fifth Ave. in Highland Park on Thursday, 2/16. For more details on these events, and to read about other events, click here.
Most events are open to the community; it’s a great way to get involved with a deserving charity and help support the hard work of our high school students.
